Shirley M. Bankston, 86, of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on August 8, 2023. Shirley was a devout Catholic who spent many years as manager of the deli at the local grocery store Zuppardo’s. Preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Gauthier. Shirley is survived by her loving children, daughter Paula Despenzero and son Jerry Gauthier, as well as grandchildren, Kristy Matthews, Carrie Price, and Christopher Gauthier. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 9am at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA.
