Shirley Granier Posey

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Joseph Posey, parents, Nemour Granier Sr. and Georgine Barbier Granier, siblings, Eldon and Donald A. Granier, and granddaughter, Alyssa Paige Abadie.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon P. Brown, Claire P. Brauninger, and Elizabeth A. Turner, and beloved grandchildren, Hester Abadie, Melissa, Jason, and Gregory Brauninger, and Sarah and Sean Turner. She is also survived by her brother, Nemour S. Granier Jr., great-grandchildren, Taylor and Logan Abadie, and great-great-grandchild, Skylar Abadie.

Shirley was a graduate of Metairie High School, a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church, and a member of Metairie Senior Center. She had a vibrant social life and loved to travel, bowl, and eat french fries. She was a resident of Ville St. Marie for many years where she enjoyed doing arts and crafts and playing word games. However, her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She was a loving person with a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 1 PM - 2 PM with a memorial Mass to begin at 2 PM. Inurnment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
