Following his graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Intelligence Advisor in Vietnam and later retired as a Captain. He then went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration from the A.B. Freeman School of Business of Tulane University. Stan began a 44 year career as a banker and then as an investment banker with several local firms. He ended his career as an Adjunct Professor teaching in the Masters of Management of Energy Program at the Freeman School of Business at Tulane.
Stan was a devout Roman Catholic who served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and on the Finance Council at Saint Francis of Assisi Church. He Co-Chaired a successful Capital Campaign to replace the organ at Saint Francis with his wife and later received the Order of Saint Louis Medallion. He loved to attend his annual retreats at Manresa and encouraged friends to do so with him. Stan served on the Board of Trustees at his daughter's school, the Academy of the Sacred Heart for nine years, two of which he was President. While there he was also Treasurer of the Board and Chairman of the Finance Committee at the school. He also served on the Bureau of Governmental Research of New Orleans as the Treasurer, a Member of the Executive Committee and a Member of the School Board Watch Committee. Stan's sparkle at gatherings and his thoughtful presence always made those around him feel welcomed and valued. He embodied the elegance and charm of a true New Orleans gentleman from his affinity for bow ties to his stories and interest in the affairs of the day.
