He is survived by his sister, Sandra Castleberry Paul; his brother, Virgil Edward “V.E.” Castleberry; and many cousins, friends, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Edward “A.E.” Castleberry and Rosalie Somme Castleberry.
Stephen was born in Houma, Louisiana and attended LSUNO after high school. He was a longtime organist and office manager at St. Rita Catholic Church in Harahan. Music was his lifelong passion and he was honored to serve his church through his gift.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11 AM. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. A graveside service will follow Mass in All Saints Mausoleum.
