After attending Jesuit High School, Steve went on to college where he graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. He then began his long career and passion as a cameraman and video engineer with WWL-TV in New Orleans where he worked for over forty years. Throughout his career, he freelanced for multiple local and national television networks, covering numerous sporting events including NFL games, college games, 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and 2000 Olympics in Australia. Steve never met a person he didn’t know, as he won everyone over with his stories and quick wit. His daughter and grandchildren were the center of his world. He was an avid collector of anything electronic. Steve was active in his community by serving as a member of the St. Mark’s School board in Chalmette and a member of the Marksmen club; lifelong supporter of his communities’ police departments, serving as a reservist in Jefferson and St. Bernard Parishes. He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell, LA.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 19 years, Judy McInnis Gaudry; and his parents, John (Jack) and Rosemary Williams Gaudry.
Steve is survived by his daughter Jamie Gaudry; grandchildren Blaine, Blake and Mallory; stepson Gene Dow; brother Richard Gaudry (Brenda); sister Susan Peck (Joseph) and his good friend and companion Anne Tusa.
