

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Helena Nuccio; his siblings, Lenora Lyttle, Anthony Nuccio, Joseph Nuccio, and Charles Nuccio; and his nephews, Carlos and Sam Nuccio.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Debra Carroll Nuccio; his three children, Steve Nuccio, Jr. (Elizabeth), Gina Graves (John Jackson), and Dina Carroll (Wade Guilbeau); his four grandchildren, Nicholas Nuccio (Emily), Alicia Nuccio, Nicholas Calico, and Stefanie Schilling (Zachary); and two great-grandchildren, who are on the way!
Steve was born in Tickfaw, Louisiana on January 31, 1932. He has been a resident of the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans for 71 years, where he earned the nickname “Mayor of Franklin Avenue”.
He was a past member of the Dixie Pigeon Club, a group dedicated to homing pigeon races, which he won many awards for over the years. When he was a young adult he took up boxing at St. Mary’s Gym in the French Quarter and fought in 60 matches, losing only one.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM. The interment will follow the chapel service at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
