Susan Lee Pashin, one day shy of 76, of New Orleans, peacefully transcended to Heaven on Thursday, August 1st, 2024 in the company of her loving family. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Eleanor and Stephen Shincarick, she grew up in Franklin Township, NJ, later living in Aberdeen, blocks from the beach in Belmar, then finally New Orleans. She was a graduate of Franklin High School before cheerleading at Monmouth University, graduating with a degree in elementary education. She continued by earning a Master's Degree in audiology from Kean University. She touched the lives of countless students as an elementary school teacher at Strathmore Elementary School in Aberdeen, NJ and Point Road Elementary School in Little Silver, NJ.
Susan was the most loving wife, mother, and friend. She was a gentle soul who cared deeply for everyone in her life, and was adored by them in return. Her pretty blue eyes were noticed instantly by everyone. She was tiny in stature, but fierce in living life, defying the odds every time she faced them, a tribute to her superior inner strength, being 'tougher than the rest'. She always thought of others, connecting to so many people instantly, whether it be her students, friends, or large extended family. She was happiest at the beach with her feet in the sand, listening to her husband playing trumpet on stages in NJ and New Orleans, or going to countless basketball games with her son. She and her husband were avid music lovers, attending shows by the most prominent artists of their day. She loved seeing all of her friends who played music, and she was always listening to Bruce Springsteen, the Beatles, and Chapel Hart.
Susan is survived by Jerry Pashin, her rock and loving husband and partner of over 50 years, and Daniel Pashin, her dedicated son.
Please reach out to her husband and son for private celebrations of her life. Interment will be at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery, specifically the Mary Queen of Peace Columbarium.
