Sylvia Miller Reis

Sylvia Miller Reis passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Frank Reis, IV for 63 years. Mother of Sheryl R. Mazerat (Donald Mazerat, Jr). Daughter of the late James R. Miller, Jr. and Lucille DiMiceli. Sister of the late Gilda Spinner (Harold). Sister-in-law of Clifford Reis, Sr. (Elaine), Nicholas Reis (Ava). Godmother of Stephany Spinner Meyers (Jason), Clifford Reis, Jr. (Wendi), and Dominick Meyers.

Sylvia graduated from Annunciation High School in 1954. She retired from Hartford Insurance after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Insurance Women’s Association, Sultanas, East Jefferson Hospital volunteer program, and numerous carnival organizations.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Metairie Healthcare Center and Harmony Hospice for their attentive care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 12 PM. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Ann Church & Shrine or Alzheimers Association, or Masses in her honor.
