

Gaetano “Tano” Compagno, age 66, unexpectedly passed away on March 29, 2016. Tano is survived by his wife of 38 years, Connie T. Compagno; his mother, Maria T. Compagno; his three sons Troy A. Fouquet (Lisa), Trevor J. Fouquet (Alison) and Brett N. Fouquet (Carmen); his 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Maria Roth (Billy), Joseph Compagno (Marion), Elisabeth Fisher and Angela Chagnard (Donnel); in-laws, Suzanne Isaacs, Judith Tullis (Eli), Mary Jane LeRouge (Greg), Lenson Talbot, Kathleen Lore (Buddy) and Marlen Erwin (Johnny); and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Peter J. Compagno; Francesca “NiNi” Uddo and Tomassa “Mama” Uddo. Tano was a graduate of Loyola University. He began his career in local television broadcasting and later went on to be a broker/realtor for ReMax Real Estate Partners. He was a very committed and hardworking volunteer of NOMAR, WCR & LR. During his real estate career, Tano served as NOMAR Treasurer, Secretary, and Director for 4 years, Louisiana REALTORS Director, LR Leadership Graduate 2015, Budget Committee, Executive Committee, NOMPAT, REALTOR Safety Task Force, Government Affairs Committee, Special Task Force and REALTORS Day Off Task Force. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Ludovicum Council 4663 with St. Louis King of France. Tano became a member in 2008 as Chancellor, Family Director, Building Board member, Pro-Life Director and served on the recruitment committee. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
