Teresa Maria Monahan

After a short illness,Teresa passed away at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston,Texas. Teresa attended elementary, middle school and junior high in Florida before moving to Covington and attending Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Teresa was a student at ULL, graduated from Aveda Cosmetology School and completed an internship at Disney World in Orlando.Teresa enjoyed being with family and friends, listening to music and traveling.Teresa was sweet, gentle, kind, bright and generous.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Francisco S. Lopez and her uncle, Francisco L. Lopez.

Teresa is survived by her parents, William J. Monahan, III and Maria E. Monahan, her sister, Elka E. Monahan and her two brothers, Seve F. Monahan and Gabriel J. Monahan. Teresa will be especially missed by her two nieces, Amelia E. Monahan and Khaleigh E. Kemp and her maternal grandmother, Maria G. Lopez. Teresa also had very special relationships with her aunts, cousins, Godparents and several generations of extended family members. She also had very close friends from shared times in Florida and in numerous cities in Louisiana, especially her dear William McLemore.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation and memorial mass on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. until the mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum, which is on the same grounds as the funeral home.
