He was the husband of Mollie McCullough Alarcon, the father of Joshua Holland Alarcon and the late Joseph McCullough Alarcon, the brother of Trudy Alarcon Melancon (the late Kirk), and the son of the late Ann Quentin Alarcon and Frederick Joseph Alarcon.
He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He retired as a chief judge of the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court in 2012, having earlier served as a New Orleans traffic court judge and in various legal positions of local government. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School, Spring Hill College, University of Alabama, and Loyola Law School. He served as president of the Sugar Bowl Committee from 2000-2001.
