I'm so sorry that I was unaware of her passing.  We went to Deady and Milby High School together.  The mother of one of our friends, Kia Taylor, coached a softball team that we were on.  So very sorry for your loss.  Barbara McWatters Hackerott - 1969

A few days ago was my fathers birthday, he went to her gravestone yo eat lunch like they use to, it was really nice to know that even in death we can still spend time with her

I went to Junior High School with Thea. She was a fun person to be around. We all laughed a lot and enjoyed life. We wrapped each others houses a couple of times and kept in touch through out High School. Eventually lost touch after college but many fond memories of those times. Sorry to hear of her passing. Condolences to the family and friends.

Thea and I met through our husbands.  They were roommates at TLC their Freshman year.  John and I  got married June 27 at the end of that school year (1970).   Dave brought Thea as his date to our wedding and the rest just fell into place.  We all loved just hanging out and enjoying our “young love” time.  They married the following year one week shy of our anniversary.  We were there for their wedding and Thea’s something borrowed was  my veil.  Such sweet memories we shared.  You will never be forgotten my sweet friend. ❤️

My mimi was many different things to many different people weather that be a mimi, Avon lady, friend or even a loving wife. One memory that I will never forget is the time my family went in a cruise and when she told me how much it meant to her that we were all together as a big happy family. I know that now she can rest in a better place where she can watch me and my family at sporting events graduations and even weddings in the future. We will always love and keep her I our memories forever.

Thea Burgbacher, she was known by many, and loved by all, I should know, I am her grandchild, everyone had memories with her, but I know she is going to a better place, and that no matter what, that she will always be with us. I just hope you have the best afterlife that can be given, I can say this for all Burgbacher’s, we will always love you❤️

Mrs Thea always looked so beautiful and always had a smile. Such a classy lady with grace. 
My family will keep her and her family in our hearts and prayers. Loved by so many in our town. 
Going to vote will never be the same.

Oh Lord, I tried to think of what I could say that hasn’t already been said, but we all know, everyone who met her loved her dearly.  She showed me what true love could really be and inspired me to not settle for less.  She taught me to smile through the pain, as I know she did so often.  I will never, ever, for the rest of my life forget how wonderful she was to me and how she just let me be me.  She made be believe I was more than just a foul mouthed, pot head, with no volume control 🤦🏻‍♀️ Even though that’s exactly who I am. She just loved me anyways.  

Ok, so now for the serious business…….I know she would want me to end this on a high note and make everyone laugh. So, years ago, she told me that “the kids” hated her “Squirrel.” Yall, thats what she called her clip on bun😂 She went on about how she was never going to part with her 🐿 no matter what they thought. (It was her signature piece ya know👵🏻) So I took it too far, as usual, and told her that I’d make sure when she passed that the 🐿 would have the send off it deserved. I’d pay someone to play “Taps” and I’d say a few nice words about all the good times they shared, as it was slowly being lowered onto her head one last time.  We laughed til we were both crying our eyes out in “her booth.” 😂 Which brings me to the other thing i always threatened her with, when this day came.  I told her I would ask Larry Katz to have a fancy plaque made with her name on it and have it mounted to table #11, that way it would always be called “Thea’s Table.”❤️ I think in honor of Ms. Thea,  I’m  gonna throw on something with Hawaiian🌺put on everything in the jewelry box💍 tease my bun to Jesus, and eat dinner at her table tonight🍽………..and just so i get the full affect, Justin has graciously offered to carry my purse 👜 while I make my grand entrance 👸🏻………all my love and prayers to Mr. David, the boys, the wives, and the kids🙏🏻(It must be a sign, I googled how far it was to Luling and there she was on the business page❤️)






Thea became my best friend and the sister I never had at age six. We have held that special bond ever since and she is the keeper of my secrets as I am to hers. I love this special woman with all my heart and she will be sorely missed. My prayers go out to her wonderful husband of 50 years and her kids and grandkids that she so loved. The world was a better place for Thea being here and one day we will all be reunited. 

Although I never did have the opportunity or good fortune to meet Thea in person, I felt that I knew her - through my longtime friend and former principal, Sandy Doland. I loved seeing posts about their family's adventures and viewing photographs of all of their loving activities.  Thea was such a beautiful person. I grew up with the Burgbacher family at Christ the King in Kenner. Ms. Thea was a fabulous lady and she made the most delicious cakes! While I moved away in 1991, we had the opportunity to see each other when I visited the church or on Facebook. My heart hurts for Russell, John and Mr. Dave and their families in losing such a wonderful person. May you find strength in God's love and each other.

What a sweet, funny, creative, mischievous, loving woman my daughter Liz had the honor of  calling Mother-in-Law, friend and confidante. And “Lil” John had her as his precious MiMi. Thea was so full of life and I was thrilled and very touched when she told me in no uncertain terms that I was family when Liz married her wonderful son, John. She included me in every Burgbacher gathering and we celebrated the gifts we had in our children and grandchildren. 
She shared her love of cruises when we all spent our family Christmas on one. As she was an extraordinary Cruise Queen , I couldn’t keep up with her energy and adventures! But I laughed every day, at some point, on that family trip because she made it special and so much fun. 
She will be so missed by everyone. She touched so many hearts and lives- especially mine. I love you Thea. My love runs deep in this wonderful family. To  Dave , Russell, Carrie, Mac, Luke, John, Liz and John , you all were always # 1 in her heart.

Thea was the most sweetest, kindness and most genuine lady that I have had the pleasure of knowing.  When she shared stories involving her family especially the love of her life, Dave, her face would be glowing and light up the room.  She always made us laugh at Pokeno and she will be missed.  Fly high beautiful Angel! You are a legacy and will be missed.

Thea was   so much fun, kind of sassy and cute All at the same time..  We will miss our Pokeno sister , her laugh, her smile and her kindness.

No one loved their family more than Mrs. Thea.
Her life revolved around them. 
I will miss seeing all her creative outfits for the holidays. 
She had such a zest for life.
Thea , you will be deeply missed.


Ms Thea. So many memories. So many laughs. So much fun we all had together. I guess my favorite memory would be how she always had Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and The Great Outdoors movie ready for us all to watch whenever I slept over. She was like second mother to me for so long. Although her passing this life and moving onto the next without us is hard, we must all remember that we'll all be together again in heaven. God was ready to take her home and His timing isn't always our timing. She's living her life with Jesus and she'll be waiting for us when it's our turn. 

The grandchildren have always been special to Thea.  She treasured the time she spent with all of them.  I especially love this photo of Thea and Mackenzie at Uncle Steve’s funeral.
