Timothy Gail McCarthy passed away on October 16, 2018 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans at the age of 50 due to complications resulting from a cardiac ablation procedure. Timothy was born on January 22, 1968 and was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Gubert McCarthy and Justin Arthur McCarthy. The youngest of six children, he is survived by his brother: Sean McCarthy, and four sisters: Kathleen McCarthy, Jeanine Marsilia, Eileen Brown, and Sharon Pecquet, and eleven nieces and nephews. Timothy was a life-long resident of New Orleans who loved the iconic Jazz music of our city. In his youth he was an avid backpacker who hiked with his sisters at Philmont Scout Ranch and later tackled the 2,000 mile Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. Timothy left us way too soon and will be greatly missed and mourned by family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:30PM. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery.
