Vincent J. Scurich

Vincent J. Scurich passed away on January 25, 2015 after a long illness at the age of 92. Vincent was a native New Orleanian and former resident of St. Bernard and Jefferson Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Scurich, brothers John and Earl; sister Doris; son-in-law Ollie J. French III. Vincent is survived by his wife of 66 years, Earlene Ries Scurich; daughters Barbara French and Elizabeth Perry (Wayne); grandchildren Lauren and Kelly French and Harrison Perry, and step grandchild Wayne Perry Jr.; and his brother Lawrence ""Larry"" Scurich. Vincent was a World War II Veteran who earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and Tulane University. Member of the American Legion Post 203, VFW Post 3706, and the Forty and Eight. He was also a member of Girard senior Citizen's Club and Tulane Greenwave Club St. Bernard Chapter, as well as past Member of the Board of the Post Office Credit Union. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124.
