

He was born in New Orleans on December 9, 1926 to the late Walter Joseph Suthon, Jr. and Anne Elders Suthon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Warrene Hayne Suthon, daughter, Warrene Hayne Suthon and brother, Lucius Felton Suthon.
He is survived by daughters, Sarah Foster (Sally) Suthon and Elizabeth Suthon Woods, son-in-law, Thomas Cooper Woods, grandchildren, Josephine Morancy Jason, Cooper Suthon Woods, Foster Frye Woods, sister, Anne Meredith Laird and dear friend, Joan Tupper.
Walter graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. He served in the U. S. Navy, and returned home to graduate from Tulane University and Tulane University Law School.
He practiced law for over fifty years, starting his career at Monroe and Lemann and then practicing on his own until retiring at the age of 80. He was a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.
He was also a member of several social and Carnival organizations, including The Society of Colonial Wars, New Orleans Country Club, Boston Club, Stratford Club, and Louisiana Club.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00AM. A private burial will be held in Franklin, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal School, Trinity Episcopal Church, or the charity of your choice.
