Miss Wilda Emma Lou Miller, a native of New Orleans, LA, and a lifelong resident of the Irish Channel passed peacefully from this world on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was 83 years young. Miss Miller loved to sing and dance, was active for many years in New Orleans Theater, and performed in many play productions. She was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and Soule Business College and retired after 35 years of service with the United States Department of Agriculture. Wilda was a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Liguori, St. Mary’s Assumption Churches and Parish.
Miss Miller was predeceased by her mother, Emma Lee Powell Miller, her father Charles William Miller, and her sister Mildred Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy May (John), grandchildren, Kristen Rovira (Brad), Evan May (Rebekah) and her great grandchildren, Piper, Camille, and Knox.
Wilda was always full of life and never met a stranger. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery No. I. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
