William Edward Hudson Sr.

William Edward Hudson, Sr. passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014, at the age of 82.Mr. Hudson is survived by his sons William Edward Hudson, Jr. (Barbara Ballard) and Leigh Hudson (Lisa); granddaughters Adele and Abby Hudson; siblings Dolores Nenos and John Hudson. He is preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Schwarz Hudson; parents William Edward Hudson and Georgina Jacquillon Hudson. Mr. Hudson served in the Marine reserves. He was a deputy in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and also served as a liaison to the Jefferson Parish Council. Later in his career he lobbied the Louisiana State Senate. Mr. Hudson was a partner in Medallion Realty. For several years he worked as a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #60. He was a member of Colonial Golf and Country Club, and a longtime parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church, Harahan. He enjoyed flying his plane, golfing and was an avid fisherman. Funeral Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Crusaders, 1117 Homestead St., Metairie, LA 70005.
