

He is preceded in death his parents, Willis E. Walton, Sr. and Ester Aguirre Walton; sister, Mary Moore; and brother, William T. Walton.
He is survived by his wife whom he was devoted to for 60 years, Carolyn Walton; son, Christopher E. Walton; granddaughter, Lila Grace Walton; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Honduras, “Taco” came to the US when he was 16. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the Air Force. After a successful stint in the military, he attended LSUNO and received his bachelor’s Degree. After graduation, he attended Officer Candidate School and then spent four more years in the Air Force as a captain. Then, in 1968, he began an outstanding career in law enforcement with the FBI, starting in NYC where he performed under-cover work for several years. He then went on to serve in several other cities, landing back in New Orleans in 1980 as a supervisory special agent, specializing in counter-intelligence and hostage negotiation. After retiring from the FBI in 1990, he went on to serve as Chief of Staff for the late Pat Taylor at Taylor Energy Company. He then went on to work as an investigator for the Louisiana State Bar Disciplinary Board for 22 years until his ultimate retirement in 2014. After his working career, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
“Taco” especially enjoyed coaching soccer and he had many successful teams, including a Louisiana state championship team in the mid 80’s. In his later years, he enjoyed bike riding and watching sports on TV, mainly golf and tennis.
The visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. A private interment with be held at a later date.
