Alice Lavena Rysdyk Blake passed away at her home in New Port Richey, Florida, on Thursday, May 31, 2012. She was 87. Alice was born in Muskegon, Michigan to Ralph and Minnie Parks. She worked as a sewing machine operator for General Motors and retired to the Florida area in 1989. While in Florida, Alice liked to go to the beach to watch dolphins, and to go fishing, so much so, that one time she spent eight hours fishing and didn't even catch a thing. She liked to line dance and played in a Kitchen Band at the Orchid Lake RV Resort. Alice was an excellent cook, gardener, and loved to travel and had even been on a world tour as well as all over the United States. She also enjoyed the movies, and sitting on her porch with a glass of wine while visiting with neighbors, but, most of all, Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, who she loved very much. Alice is preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Paul Blake. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Lindsey, Joann Taylor, Diann (Chuck) Zukowski, Laura Glover; Step-son, Mickey (Donna) Blake; step-daughters, Andy (Bob) Maine, Mary VanDommelen, Judy Barber, and Maureen (Mark) Gregory; sisters, Vicky Jowan, Patricia Niedzielski, Marilyn Thorne; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Alice will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
