Barbara Jean Chalmers, 78 of New Port Richey, passed away Feb. 24, 2015 under Hospice care. Born in Detroit, Michigan. She and her husband for years belonged to a campers club in Lapeer Michigan. They owned a camper and enjoyed spending summer weekends at the campgrounds. She retired in 1995 from Martin Place General Hospital in Madison Heights Michigan and held the position of Financial Counselor. Once retired she and her husband moved to New Port Richey Florida from Michigan. She loved living in Florida and hanging out at the pool. When health permitted she loved doing things for and with her friends, she was very generous and a thoughtful person. She had always bowled on a woman’s bowling league. Through the years she had numerous pet dogs and loved them all.
Survivors are her sons Steve and Jeff Troia, step-son Roy (Nicole) and five children, a sister Betty Darrough and granddaughters Alyssa and Amanda Troia.
