Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for six years, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his country. After his military service, he worked hard at U.S. Steel for many years before embarking on several successful business ventures in Indiana and Florida, including ownership of three golf courses, two bars, a restaurant, a nursery, and a trailer park. His entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Bill had a deep love for golf, shooting darts, singing karaoke, and playing poker, passions that he joyfully shared with friends and family. His humor and fun-loving spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be remembered for his jokes and genuine care for those around him.
Bill was preceded in death by two beautiful wives. He and Doris Marie Haddix (née Kolvek) were married for 44 devoted years, and after her passing in 2004, he shared 13 happy years (10 married) with Mary Ellen Haddix (née Gizelbach), until she passed in 2019.
He is survived by his son, Michael Haddix (spouse Betsy), his daughter, Lisa Bove (spouse Scott), four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. His family will continue to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy of love and loyalty.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Marine Corps League, Post 567 in New Port Richey on October 5th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., where we will celebrate with food and karaoke, of course.
Billy Lee Haddix will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit and memory will live on forever in our hearts.
