With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Borivoje “Boro” Vuksanovic, a devoted father, husband, and friend, who left this world on February 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his daughters and son-in-law.
Born in 1955 in Croatia, Boro was a man of resilience and strength, shaped by both triumphs and hardships. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Marija, and together they built a life filled with love and dedication. Before long, they were blessed with their two daughters - Jelena and Jasmina. In 1998, as war ravaged their homeland, Boro made the difficult decision to relocate his family to the United States, starting anew in New Port Richey, Florida. Though the challenges were immense, he and Marija built a beautiful life together, grounded in hard work, love, and unwavering determination.
Boro’s greatest trial came in July 2017 when he lost his beloved Marija far too soon. Despite his grief, he carried on with his characteristic strength, finding solace in his daughters who were his pride and joy. His heart expanded further in 2018 when he met his soon-to-be son-in-law, Fabian. Boro officially welcomed Fabian into the family in 2022, when Jelena and Fabian wed.
A gifted architect, Boro’s passion for his craft never waned. Even in his later years, he continued to surprise his family with intricate architectural drawings, a testament to his enduring talent and love for design.
His final months were filled with cherished moments—a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, and simple, joyful gatherings with family. He especially relished the steaks his son-in-law grilled for him, a small but treasured tradition.
His daughters, with deep love and understanding, cared for him in a way that truly made his life full and meaningful. Their bond was evident to all who saw them together, a love that transcended words.
Boro also found deep companionship in his loyal dog, Lucky, who stood by his side for almost a decade, offering comfort in the years following Marija’s passing. Knowing that Lucky will now be cared for by his daughters and son-in-law is a fitting tribute to the love and devotion Boro showed to both his family and his beloved companion.
In his final days, Boro found peace on the patio of the family home overlooking Lake Minnehaha, watching the sunset—a quiet, beautiful moment of reflection.
Even as he faced his final battle, he remained strong, opening his eyes one last time to see his daughters and son-in-law together before peacefully passing with all of them by his side.
Boro’s kindness, selflessness, and resilience will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the strength he showed, and the family he cherished.
Rest in peace, Boro. You are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
Volimo te tata!
