SMOLINSKI, EDWARD,88, of Hudson, Florida, passed away on March 1st, 2026. He was born in New York, New York to Jozef Smolinski and Mary Brykowski. He served 4 years in the U.S. Army and was later a Correction Captain for the City of New York for 24 years. After living in New York City for 55 years, he moved his family to Hudson, Florida where he continued his new wonderful life of retirement.
He was known for his kindness and generosity to his family, friends and to anyone that he immediately met. He had a deep love for history and geography, following the stock market daily and enjoyed listening to all the iconic bandleaders of the Big Band Era and soundtracks to his favorite Broadway musicals.
Edward is survived by his wife Lida, and his sons, Jeffrey, Richard and Pierre.
Visitation will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, US, on March 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The Funeral Service will take place there on March 8, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will follow at Meadowlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison St, New Port Richey, FL 34652, US, on March 8, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
