Elizabeth was born on June 29, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Francis and Bernadette Palma. She graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in Milwaukee and, on September 29, 1956, married the love of her life, John Brandt. They shared 54 wonderful years of marriage before his passing.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, John Brandt; her parents, Francis and Bernadette Palma; her brother, Frank Palma; her sister, Rosemary Palma; and her beloved granddaughter, Kaitlin DeJarnette.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Corrine DeJarnette and son, William (Sara) Brandt; her sisters, Marge (Robert) Seitz, Bernadette Palma, and Mary (Phil) Juco; and her brother, Gerald Palma.
Elizabeth was a proud grandmother to Jessica Brandt, Jonathan (Shelby) DeJarnette, Kaitlyn (Austin) Keesee, William (Jordan) Brandt, and Kyle Brandt. After spending the early years of their marriage in West Allis, Wisconsin—where they worked and raised their family—Elizabeth and John moved to Florida. They lived in Largo and Gulf Harbors in New Port Richey before building their retirement home in Hudson. Elizabeth worked as a secretary during the early years of marriage and later for the family business in New Port Richey.
Elizabeth was deeply involved in her community. She served as Head of the Girl Scout Council, was a member of the Junior Service League, the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club, and the Embroiderers Guild, where she won many ribbons at the Pasco County Fair. She was active in the Questors Group and the Ladies Solidarity at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Elizabeth enjoyed golfing, boating, gardening, birdwatching, reading, and playing Mahjong. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family. She especially looked forward each year to attending the Hirsch Family Picnic in Wisconsin, a tradition she held close to her heart.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, friendship, and cherished memories that will live on in all who knew and loved her.
