She was born at St. Francis Hospital in Kewanee, Illinois on November 10th, 1946.
Emily was devoted to her daughters and fiercely loved her family. She worked for many years in manufacturing plants, factories and foundries so that she could provide for her children. She was very proud of her Polish heritage, she enjoyed going out to dinner, she loved to golf, but her favorite pastime was laughing with her daughters (usually at her expense).
She was a very private person and didn't like to be the center of attention. Therefore, at her request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. She asked that her immediate family hold a simple Celebration of Life to share favorite memories and enjoy the time together, laughing.
She is survived by her eldest daughter, Lauri Thompson Hunter and her beloved fur baby, Scarlett. Her grandchildren; Sean, Brandon (Lynne), Christian (Christina), Logan, and Emily (Johnny). As well as 8 great-grandchildren; Adrianna, Aubrey, Harper, Alivia, Scarlett, Gatlin, Layla, and Emerson. She is also survived by her sister, Pat (Tom) Wiley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Bill Dowell. Her youngest daughter, Rhonda Thompson Romero. Her mother, Stephanie Wisniewski. Her sister, Theresa (Joe) Skovronski, her brother, Tom Wisniewski, and her grandson, Joshua.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
