Georgianna C. Garcia

May 12, 1936 - April 21, 2017

Georgianna Christine Garcia, 80, entered into eternal peace on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Medical Center of Trinity in New Port Richey, Florida.

Georgianna was born on May 12, 1936, in Providence Rhode Island to the late George and Loretta (Lanni) Shaheen. Georgianna graduated from Providence, Rhode Island’s Hope High School in 1953 and later worked as an administrator for the Providence based jewelry manufacturer Spiedel.

In 1987 Georgianna along with her husband Norman and youngest son Michael relocated to Port Richey, FL. There in 1988, Georgianna became the proprietor and designer of Carousel of Flowers on Rt. 19. Georgianna was considered to be one of the most creative and innovative designers in her profession. She retired in 2002.

Georgianna enjoyed cooking, dining out, crafting art with her hands, flowers, music, the ocean breeze, card playing, laughing and spending quality time with her friends, family, children and grandchildren.

Georgianna is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Norman C. Garcia; cherished daughter, Lori J. Antunes, beloved sons Michael G. Garcia and his wife Rebecca Garcia, Anthony G. Medeiros and his wife Lauri A. Medeiros.

Georgianna is also survived by her sister Stephanie Ceceri, brothers Robert Shaheen and his wife Theresa Shaheen, Daniel Gill, Darin Shaheen, George Shaheen and his wife Laura Harrell.

Georgianna leaves the cherished memories of her beloved grandchildren, Crystalin C. Medeiros MaHull and her husband Thomas MaHull, Anthony N. Medeiros and his fiancé Amanda Villanova, Eric Garcia, Emily Garcia and her great grandchild Lilliana Medeiros.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and several brother and sister in laws.

A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 10:00 AM, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 8320 Old SR 54, New Port Richey, FL, friends and relatives are invited. Georgianna will be inurned at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
