

Jerry Lichtenwalter of New Port Richey, passed away on February 13, 2024 at the age of 90. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 ½ years Fay Lichtenwalter, daughters Diana Lichtenwalter and Anita Bonner and son-in-law Ken Bonner and his brother Galen Lichtenwalter (94) and his wife Pat Lichtenwalter.
Jerry was born in Toledo, Illinois on December 4, 1933. He graduated from Cumberland High School and subsequently enlisted in the US Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller during the Korean Conflict. Upon completion of his enlistment, Jerry successfully completed a Bachelor's degree from Eastern State University, Illinois in 1961.
Jerry moved to Maryland in the early 1960s with his job at the Social Security Administration working as a disability claims examiner. It was at the office in Baltimore where he met Fay Yeager who would become his wife in October 1965. The two went on to have two daughters and countless adventures for the next 58 years. While their daughters were growing up the family traversed the country by car nearly every summer. Once the girls were grown, cruises and world travel became the norm for Jerry, Fay and their youngest daughter Diana, they visited Russia, Egypt, Spain, and other exotic locations around the world. As life settled down, they were avid Tampa Bay Rays fans, going to nearly every game and Fan Event with their daughter Diana.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at Meadowland Funeral Home, 4244 Madison St, New Port Richey, FL 34652 on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 5-7 p.m.
