Helen loved life and lived her life to the fullest, and on her own terms. She maintained her incredible and sometimes mischievous sense of humor even in the most difficult of situations, as evidenced by her infectious smile and the little twinkle in her eye. She loved to write letters, share stories of her travels, and listen to other people's life stories. Helen insisted on her independence until her final days, when she graciously accepted, and expressed appreciation for the loving care given to her by her family, friends, and other caregivers. A true friend to animals, she will be remembered for her enduring love for her cats and dogs, but especially for her genuine connection with all of the people she encountered throughout her lifetime.
