Joseph L. Bedry Jr.

Joseph L. Bedry, Jr. Passed away on October 11, 2011. He was born in McKeesport, PA in 1939. He graduated from McKeesport High School and went on to attend and play football at Youngstown State University in Ohio. After serving in the Army, he moved to Rochester, NY and began a 30-year career with Delco Products Division of General Motors. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester. On October 4, 1969, he married Diane Elizabeth Dobmeier in Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester.

He developed a love of cars as a young man and spent many happy hours throughout his life tinkering with, restoring and driving various classic cars, motorcycles, street rods and muscle cars. He was a handy man who could fix just about anything, and did. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiling, crosswords, action movies and debating politics. He retired from G.M. in 1992 and moved with his family to New Port Richey, FL in 1997.

He is predeceased by his beloved daughter JoAnne Lynn and survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane, of New Port Richey, FL; daughter Susan, of Port Richey, FL; and son Joseph L. III, of Gainesville, FL.

Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
