

Marilyn “Babe” Marchese, 96, of Hudson, FL and formerly New Port Richey, FL and Chicago, IL, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born in Chicago, IL, on October 21, 1927, to Ernest and Marie (Flick) Lindner. Everyone knew her as Babe, the youngest of three children.
Babe graduated from Saint Francis de Sales High School on the Eastside of Chicago, IL. She was married to Aldo Marchese on June 14, 1947. Babe worked in the personnel department of Wisconsin Steel and as an accountant and union delegate at United States Steel, South Works where she retired in 1985. Babe also worked alongside Aldo in their businesses on Chicago’s Eastside; Aldo’s Pizzeria, Aldo’s Little Bit of Italy restaurant, Aldo’s Catering at The Memorial Hall of Republic Steel and the Villa Cosenza Banquet Hall before retiring to New Port Richey permanently in 1988. She was a member of the Chicago Lions club. Upon retiring to Florida, she continued her social circle. She was a member of the Holiday Florida Beacon Square Civic Club where she served as chairperson of the Women’s Club, OOO’s and Potluck. Babe was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, assisted Aldo with events and dances at the Knights of Columbus Hall and was a member of the Queen of Peace Rosary Society.
Babe was preceded in death by her husband Aldo; brothers Warren and Dorothy Lindner of Holiday, FL and Gerald and Marjory Lindner of Highland, IN; In-laws Santo “Blackie” and Gina Cesario of Shrewsbury, NJ, Mary and Earl Loman of Cedar Lake, IN; nephews Gerald Lindner of Trabuco Canyon, CA, Kenneth Mackiewicz of Munster, IN and Dino Cesario of Rumson, NJ; niece Carol Cesario of Matawan, NJ and great nephews Paul Joseph Lindner of Chesapeake, VA, and Jeffery Lindner of Spring Valley, CA.
She is survived by her children Pamela (David) Krage of Villa Park, IL, Michael (Debora) Marchese, of Estero, FL and Lynn Marchese (David Carson) of Golden, CO. Nephews Warren Paul (Betty) Lindner of Leesburg, FL, Wesley (Dale) Lindner of Fishers, IN, Salvatore Cesario of Matawan, NJ and Anthony (Lauren) Cesario of Monmouth Beach, NJ; Nieces Laura Mackiewicz of Munster, IN, Paula (Carl) Meyers of Wheatfield, IN, Kathy Cesario of NJ and Patricia Lindner of Rancho Mission Veijo, CA. Grandchildren Michael S. Marchese of Shererville, IN and Nicholas Dudzik of Phoenix, AZ. Step grandchildren Rudy Munis of Lowell, IN, Erica Theobald of Bellview, WA, James Knapp of Griffin, IN and Robert Knapp of St. John, IN. Great nephews Anthony (Jolene) Lindner of San Francisco, CA, Carl (Amanda) Meyers of Suwanee, GA, Gavin (Melissa) Meyers of Tampa, FL and Christopher Lindner of San Antonio, TX. Great niece Amy Lindner (JB Daniel) of Chicago, IL and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Memories on February 2nd 2024 at 2:00pm
