Mary Ann was born on June 25, 1947, in Evanston, Illinois, to William DeVivo and Anne DeVivo, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her beloved older brothers, Louis DeVivo and Peter DeVivo, as well as her second husband, Chuck Ziegler.
She is survived by her life partner of 15 years, Larry Muffett; her daughter, Vicki Freer, and her late partner, Danny Romaine; and her son, Henry Coleman, and his wife, Hilary Kaden.
Mary Ann was a devoted grandmother to Benjamin Freer, Carter Freer, and Samantha Coleman. She cherished every moment with them, celebrating each and every one of their milestones and delighting in the joy they brought to her life.
A deeply loved aunt to her brothers’ children and grandchildren, Mary Ann was also a dear friend to so many. It seemed that when she made a friend, they were friends for life. She built lasting relationships through her compassion and generosity of spirit, and she will be remembered for the love she shared throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Gulfside Hospice or that acts of kindness to others be extended in her honor.
Mary Ann’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
