

Flynn, Dr. Michael Daniel, 83, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (August 16, 2020). He was born in the Bronx, New York, and came to Florida in 1977 from Long Island. He has been a resident of St. Petersburg for the past 23 years. He retired from the NYPD in 1974 and maintained his affiliation with the Police Benevolent Association. He was a Navy Veteran and served on the Greenwich Bay goodwill ship in the Middle East during the Korean Conflict. He was a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and worked in the Catholic Church, and later private practice, eventually earning his Doctorate of Psychology, working with the Department of Defense counseling incoming and outgoing troops along with their families. He was an avid Buccaneers fan and enjoyed travelling with his family. Michael shined most when spending time with his wife of 44 years as they worked and played together dining and dancing their way around the world. He was a loving, caring, sincere, honorable and supportive role model, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose knowledge, guidance and wisdom shaped his family’s foundation. He is survived by his wife, Rosalind (Roni) and five children; Michael C. (Edna), Orlando, Kenneth (Melissa), Long Island, NY, Susan Morton (Michael) New Port Richey, Mindy Rommel (Bernie), New Port Richey, and Lisa Brown (Jerry), New Port Richey; seven grandchildren; Jennifer, Amanda, Emma, Michael D., Shaun, Greg, and Jerry II (L.J.); and three great-grandchildren; Tripp, Blake and Ryan.
