Valerie was born and raised in New Port Richey, Florida where she spent her entire life. As a child, Valerie loved to go camping with her dad- A fond memory he cherishes. Valerie also loved going to work with her mom when she was a cake decorator, she had so much fun making the cakes and cookies for a moment she thought she actually worked there! In highschool, she enjoyed her time in ROTC.
Valerie had a few jobs in her life that she really enjoyed. First, she worked at an orthopedic office, then she worked right here at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and lastly worked at Florida Cancer Institute for quite a while. Valerie loved to help others and that is apparent with her career choices. She enjoyed donating to goodwill and Metropolitan Ministries to help give back to others in need.
Valerie loved to shop online and some would say that became her new job- a professional shopper. She always had a package or two waiting for her at her doorstep when she got home- mostly from Temu and the bark box for her pets. She loved the holidays and decorating for every one of them. She could never have enough decor for any holiday.
Of all the jobs Valerie had, her best and most prized job was to be called Mom. Valerie would do anything for her daughter, Kendall, who is her pride and joy. She loved spending time with Kendall and it was their nightly ritual to snuggle together and watch a movie in bed.
Valerie is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Patricia Crosley (Mimi) and 2 cousins Kenny Macdowell and Thomas Galasso.
She is survived by her precious daughter Kendall, her loving parents William and Kathy Macdowell, her fraternal grandmother Mary Macdowell "Mudda", Elijah- father to Kendall and many, many aunts, uncles, loving cousins and friends.
We will all remember Val for her beautiful face and smile and her big heart. She will be missed by all. We would like those who attend to please come dressed casual as we will be celebrating the life she lived and sharing all of our fond memories of her. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Metropolitan Ministers, 3216 US-19, Holiday, FL 34691.
