Virginia Ewing, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep January 11, 2025. A dedicated homemaker and fine artist, Virginia loved to paint, interior decorating, gardening and most of all, her family.
Daughter of Walter and Faith (Marden) Eppler, Virginia was born and raised in Cranford, New Jersey. Virginia was a 1960 graduate of the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport Conn. She held a B.S. in Education.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Peter F. Ewing. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ruth Eppler, her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Richard Scott, her son Walter J. Ewing, granddaughters Katherine, Margaret and Samantha, and two great granddaughters.
In her early years, she lived in Vermont, New Jersey, and Connecticut, where she and Peter were the original builders and owners of River Bend Campground in Oneco, Connecticut. She moved to Florida in 1970, where she spent much of her life in Pasco County. She loved Sims and Starkey Parks, Hobby Lobby and Michaels, and spent many hours on her paintings, home and gardens. She loved to travel, around U.S. national parks in her youth, and throughout the northeast with her family in later years.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at 11 A.M. on January 25, at the Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Garden, 4244 Madison St, New Port Richey, FL, 34652.
