

Proud US Navy Veteran passed away on August 19th, 2021 In Tarpon Springs Florida. He was the cherished son of the late Margaret and Frank Stacy Sr., Loving brother of Timothy (Carla), Margaret Doyle (Mel) and the late Frank Jr. (Esther), and the late Patricia Kippes (Pete). He was also a loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bill was born on May 26th 1945 on the near Northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. He began his professional career as a Route salesman for the 7Up Bottling co. in Chicago. In the mid 1960s he enlisted in the Navy and was soon assigned duty on the USS Iwo Jima, an amphibious helicopter assault ship which performed over 30 landings in war torn Vietnam from 1965-1967. Bill participated in the war effort during that time by aiding in the landing and evacuation of the 1500 Marines also assigned to the ship. He was very proud of his fellow military partners and their achievements. After retiring from the Navy Bill relocated to Holiday, Florida where he worked as a top notch chef, A circulation Manager for the St. Petersburg Times and later as a Maintenance Manager at Innisbrook Resort where he continued to relish his day to day activities and interactions with his fellow employees. He then retired and enjoyed the Florida life particularly with his family members and his loving girlfriend and pal, Charlene Huliaris. He will always be remembered by his loved ones for his sense of humor and kindness. Memorial services are being handled by Meadowlawn Funeral Home, New Port Richey, Florida.
