

Ann Allred Jones, 63, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. She was born July 8, 1951, in Indianapolis, IN to Robert and the late Margaret Ann (Collier) Allred.
She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church. Ann earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana State and her Master’s Degree from the University of Evansville. She was an educator for over 30 years. Ann was one of the first female High School Principals in the state of Indiana, earning Mt. Vernon Senior High School its first 4-Star School rating under her administration. She was a Student Council Sponsor, a Senior Class Sponsor, a committee member of Evan Bayh’s Drug Task Force, and past President of the Posey County Red Cross. Ann directed the Bell Choir at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, baking, and vacations and cruises with her family. During her fierce struggle with stage 4 cancer Ann created Canvas and Conversation’s Art Studio. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann Allred; and sister, Arlene Allred.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Greg Jones; her father, Rev. William Robert Allred; identical twin sister, Amy Uhl (Richard); brothers, Alan and Aaron Allred (Ashley); daughter, Renee Rayles; son, Richard Rayles (Jen); step-son, Joey Jones (Heather); step-daughter, Heather Weir (Tony); grandchildren, Whitney, Jessica, Andrew, Cassie, Xavier, Aaron, Ashlyn, Elizabeth; and aunt, Euphema Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 17, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
