Fred retired from Alcoa Industries in 1997 after 30 dedicated years of service, where he served as a supervisor. After his retirement, he continued working for another 15 years at AutoZone in Newburgh where he thoroughly enjoyed working on cars.
Fred also honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserve for eight years, carrying with him a quiet sense of duty and commitment that reflected the way he lived his life.
Above all, Fred was known for his faith and generosity of spirit. His most cherished hobby was crafting nail crosses with braided lanyards for family and friends. Each one was made by hand and given with intention, often accompanied by a heartfelt conversation about his faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Fred is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Tyler; daughters, Candy Tyler and Kristine Wood; son, Jay Tyler; grandchildren, Ashley Tyler, Allie Austin, Holly Taylor (Austen) and Raistlyn Wood; five great grandchildren and his sister, Linda Gourdoau.
