

Constance Rose (Mandarino) Caplinger, 94, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 3, 1929 in Chicago, IL, to the late Faustino and Rose (Miceli) Mandarino.
In 2001, Connie and her husband, Kenneth Wayne Caplinger, moved to Newburgh, IN when their daughter, Christina opened the Deaconess Women’s Hospital as CEO. They were longtime residents of Homewood, Il, raising their daughters, Denise and Christina. Connie was a homemaker and traditional Italian cook whose meals were enjoyed by many.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Caplinger of 71 years; brother, Walter (Ronnalee) Mandarino; and sister, Georgina (Donald) Hakes.
Constance is survived by daughters, Denise Caplinger Paciorek (Jeff) of Lowell, IN, Christina Caplinger Ryan (Ron) of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Kenneth Paciorek, Daniel Paciorek (Una), Jessica Ryan Delgado (Casey), Jennifer Ryan Rogers (Tyler), and Matthew Ryan; great grandchildren, Tyler Paciorek, Myles Delgado, Jack Rogers, Massimo Paciorek and Olivia Delgado; beloved aunt of Susie Bennett, Michael Hakes, Tommy Mandarino, Lynne Mandarino, Deanna Mulherin, Todd, Scott and Ginger Caplinger, Edward and Fred Nelson; dear friend and “Nonie” to many.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 14, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Entombment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Glenwood, IL.
