

Loving husband, father and brother, David Randall Rodgers, 55, died of natural causes on November 21, 2015, at his home in Newburgh, Indiana. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and served as President of Atlantic Coast Bible College.
David was originally from Michigan. After graduating from Southfield Christian High School in 1978, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as MM2 SS on the submarines, USS Benjamin Franklin and USS George C. Marshall, before receiving an honorable discharge in 1983. While enlisted, his tour of duty included eight fleet ballistic nuclear missile patrol missions. He also gained extensive training and experience in Hydraulics, Mechanics, and Refrigeration, and received many citations and awards from Admirals and Group Commanders, as well as the Captain, for his skills and accomplishments.
He enrolled as a student at I.S.U.E., studying Business and Economics, during which time he and his brother owned and operated an Orange Julius of America franchise at Eastland Mall from 1986-1993. He was later employed by Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary, where additionally he earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees in 2007 and 2012, respectively.
David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Terrie Jean (Dyson) Rodgers, and daughters Almeta Gayl Rodgers, 27, Economics and Finance graduate of USI, Olivia Belle Rodgers, 23, student at IUPUI, and Isabella Victoria Elizabeth Rodgers, 16, student at Castle High School and member of the Castle Knights Marching Band. He is also survived by his parents, Dr. Thomas R. Rodgers and Gayl Rodgers of Newburgh, IN, his brother Stephen C. Rodgers and wife Bethann, of Grosse Ile, MI, his sister Stacey A. Rodgers and wife Ana of Oakland, CA, along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends, and his notorious ’77 Trans Am he purchased at age 17.
Services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Newburgh, Indiana on Saturday, December 5. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m., Funeral Service begins at 11:00 a.m. David will be buried in the Rodgers Family Cemetery, Rodgers Cemetery Rd., Baxter, TN.
