

He joined the Navy in 1957 and later joined the Army where he was stationed in Germany, and met his beautiful wife, Birgitta. After pursuing her for years, she finally decided to move to the states and they married in 1967. Don was a mechanic for many years and later found his passion in car sales where he retired from Expressway Dodge in 2001. Don was always doing for others. He never met a stranger and was always happy to tell them about Jesus!
Don loved his family and friends and will be truly be missed by all.
He was preceeded in death by his wife of 47 years, Birgitta Russ (Gitta); his sisters, Ruth Ann West and Zelma Woolum; brothers, Elmer Russ and Matt Harold Russ.
Don leaves behind his beloved daughter, Natascha Waggoner; granddaughter, Kenzie Waggoner; great grandson, Bristan Waggoner; brothers Clell and Larry Russ; sister- in- law Ilona McDaniels; nieces, Tracy Fernandez, Christine Bauer, Judy Darling, and Debra Graham; nephew, Mark Garcia; as well as, several great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Tom Berry. Family and friends may visit Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by Kapperman Post 44.
