

He was a member of Newburgh Church of the Nazarene. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He grew up in Warrick County and worked for Whirlpool for 37 years. After retiring, he worked around Warrick County for several years. He loved going hunting and especially being with his family and his dog, Princess.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Donald Boyer, Jr.; parents, Alvin and Verna Boyer; sisters, Clarice Morrow, Joan Corne and Judy Boyer; and brothers, Bud Boyer and William Allen Boyer.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delores; sons, John W. Boyer (Donna), Randy L. Boyer (Tammie), Ronald R. Boyer (Connie); daughters, Shirley Wesselman (Donald), Vicky M. Henzman (Joseph); 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Roy Boyer (Brenda), Douglas Boyer (Connie), and Alvin Boyer.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dennis King and Rev. Randy Boyer, with burial at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown. Military Honors will be performed at the cemetery by American Legion Kapperman Post #44. Friends may visit Tuesday, 2-8 PM at the funeral home.
