

Dr. Donald E. Hazelrigg, 75, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. He was born April 14, 1941, in Evansville, to the late Charles and Mary Hazelrigg.
He graduated from Bosse High School in 1959, and earned a pharmacy degree in 1963 from Butler University. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. In 1969, Don graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. He practiced Dermatology at Welborn Clinic for 31 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Newburgh United Methodist Church for 41 years. Don served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force while stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, KS. He was a jazz and sports lover and coached all three of his children. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, IU and UE basketball.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol (Sapp) Hazelrigg; sons, Dr. David and Barbara (Davenport) Hazelrigg of Newburgh, Todd and Stephanie (Koertge) Hazelrigg of Albion, IL; daughter, Jill and Chris Hollander of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Adam, Abby, Allie, Christian, Jordyn, Douglas, Owen, Bree and Lillian; brother, Dr. Chuck and Cheryl Hazelrigg of Carmel, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at VNA Hospice for their loving care of Don.
Visitation will be 2-6 pm, Friday, August 5, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Private graveside services will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Welborn Foundation or Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center.
