He was employed at Danners 3-D, managed the McDonald’s in Vincennes, Bicknell and Petersburg, and was with Expressway Ford in Mt. Vernon, IN until retiring due to health issues. Donald was an avid fan of the Cubs, Colts and IU. He coached his son Chris in baseball from Little League through his teens. Along with his brother Larry, he coached his nieces Kelli and Jessica’s Girls’ Softball League in Vincennes, where he was known as “Coach Roach”. He was a proud supporter of his “favorite grandson” Collin competing in band and color guard contests at Castle High School. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters Katlyn and Karlie perform in the show choir and musicals at Castle. He also enjoyed attending his granddaughter Jayden’s volleyball games at Castle.
Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry and Larry Roach, and Bobby Dale.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy (Chambers) Roach; son, Chris Roach (Amie); grandson, Collin McClure (Hayden); granddaughters, Jayden Roach, Katlyn Holman Roach and Karlie Holman Roach; sister, Betty Ingrassia (Mark); brothers, Ron Roach (Nancy) and Melvin Roach (Krissy), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261.
