Elizabeth Crosby Fallwell

Elizabeth Crosby Fallwell, 98, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Newburgh Healthcare Center. She was born July 27, 1918, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late JoSaye Byers Crosby and Lawrence Brown Crosby.

She was a long-time member of Newburgh United Methodist Church and taught 4th grade at Castle Elementary School before retiring in 1982. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, quilting, bridge and was always interested in history.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas H. Fallwell, III and her son, John Fallwell.

Elizabeth is survived by her children; Allison Hewitt of Elkton, MD, Octavia Fallwell of Chicago, IL, Jo Dorman of Atlanta, GA, Anne Fallwell of Atlanta, GA, Thomas H. Fallwell, IV (and spouse, Lisa Fallwell) of Newburgh, IN and Richard Fallwell of Waukegan, IL. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Chris Nunley with burial at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown.
