Garey W. Patmore

He graduated from North High School and the University of Evansville. He was a member of First Christian Church in Newburgh. He retired from selling insurance for Lincoln National. Garey was a bus driver for Warrick County School Corporation and would drive for the Castle sports teams. He was a member of the Newburgh Masonic Lodge #174 and was Master of the Lodge in 1985. Garey was also a member of the Evansville Downtown Rotary Club, Warrick County Rotary Club, the Optimist Club, and the Hadi Shrine. He played Santa Claus for 25 years for area organizations and friends. He bled purple for the University of Evansville Purple Aces Club and was a member of the Huddle Back Club to bring back football to U of E.

Garey is survived by his son, Michael (Jennifer) Patmore of Seymour, IN; daughter, Cindy Doty of Waynesburg, KY; grandchildren, Christopher and Emma Patmore, Jonathan (Lee Ann) Bruce, and Dustin, Tyler and Ryan Doty; companion, Marilee Fowler; and his special friends, Raleigh and Dolores McGary.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Claypool, with entombment in Oak Hill Mausoleum. Friends may visit Friday, 3-8 PM, and 9 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Newburgh Masonic Lodge #174 will perform a Masonic service at 6 PM on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to U of E Athletic Programs or First Christian Church in Newburgh.
