

He was a graduate of Harrison High School and attended the University of Evansville. He was currently employed at Mohler’s Tech, Inc. and previously worked at Schaeffer Manufacturing for over twenty years. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an instrumental member of the community, coaching youth sports for over 15 years, including softball and basketball. He and his wife, Kim, have been married for over 30 years. Gary was a loving father and husband and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Phillips; daughters, Kristen Phillips and Leah (Phillips) Coyle, all of Newburgh; parents, Don and Pat Phillips of Leesburg, FL; father-in-law, Paul Davis of Evansville; sister, Debbie (Greg) Neidig of Evansville; brother, Larry Phillips of Leesburg, FL; step-brothers, Dave (Maureen) of Indianapolis, Mike (Alma) of Evansville and Ed (Susie) Hougland of Boonville; mother and father-in-law, Judy and Wayne Jones of Newburgh; brother-in-law, Jeff (Tammy) Ellison of Evansville; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12:30 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Fr. Ted Tempel, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warrick Humane Society.
