Gregg Owen Roos was born in Louisville, KY on December 22, 1939. He lived most of his life in Evansville, IN. He graduated from Central High School prior to entering the US Navy where he served for four years, continuing in the Naval Reserves. He took his skills in electronics and worked for and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service.
Gregg was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A kind and gentle person, he provided for his family while always attending to the needs of others. From dear friends like Bud and Gaddy, to a complete stranger, Gregg provided caring companionship. He always looked for meaningful ways to make a difference like ensuring a nursing home patient had access to watching baseball in his room - with a cable subscription he never knew was covered by Gregg, to helping to serve lunch to all residents on the floor when visiting his parents.
All who knew Gregg, knew he loved to ride motorcycles. He traveled all over the US. He especially enjoyed seeing the seasons change in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Gregg was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother and nephew. He leaves behind many friends and extended family members. Notably these include, his wife of 34 years, Bonnie Roos; his son, Darwin Roos, Marion, NC; daughters, Patty Leggett of Evansville, IN and Elizabeth Roos Barnett, Bloomington, IN (daughter-in-law, Jill Barnett) and grandson, Christopher Barnett; his sister, Debbie Wagemann and nephews, Jason Dowd and Skyler Wagemann.
Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNewburghChapel.com.
Gregg would appreciate your efforts to identify a person in need and make a conscious effort to engage in an act of care and kindness for their benefit.
