Ian was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. He enjoyed being with his friends, playing video games, music, and caring for his cats. He attended First Christian Church in Newburgh and was a sophomore at Castle High School.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Argil and Alma Ludwig and David Duell; and a cousin, Ryan West.
Ian is survived by his mother, Michele Hiatt of Newburgh; his father, Greg Duell; brother, Justin; sister, Miranda; grandmother, Sharon Duell; aunt, Darlene (Richard) West; uncles, Ron (Donna) Ludwig, Lendall (Susie) Ludwig, Doug (Anne) Duell, all of Newburgh, and Dale (Debbie) Ludwig of Rockport; and many cousins.
Services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Fritz Kaufman. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
