Jerry D. Vantrease, 72, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was born July 1, 1943, in Franklin, KY, to the late Guy and Bernice Vantrease.
He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Chandler, IN. Jerry was a painter for over 55 years, working for Scheessele & Sons Construction for over 20 years. He enjoyed restoring storage trunks.
Jerry was preceded in death by sons, David and Eddie; his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 44 ½ years, Camilla; daughters, Jackie Pitt (Steve) of Orlinda, TN, Jill Partain of Newburgh, Dina Anderson of Missoula, MT; grandchildren, Jared Sharp, Jamie Sharp, Morgan Vantrease, Jacklyn Gosnell, Jordan Partain; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Steve Vantrease and Johnny Vantrease both of Franklin, KY; and sister, Peggy Sandefur of Bowling Green, KY.
His body will be cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
