Jim was born to Rev. Oscar and Marie Pullum on February 20, 1942 in Benton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Don Pullum.
Like his father, Jim was an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene was a bi-vocational pastor at several area churches, including First Church of the Nazarene, Grace Church of the Nazarene and Beacon Church of the Nazarene, all of Evansville, and at First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Branch, IN. He was also associate pastor at Diamond Valley (currently Faith) Church of the Nazarene in Evansville.
Jim was a master electrician and was co-owner of J&D Electric with his son Keith. He shared his love of hunting and fishing with his sons. He had a pilot license (for his love of flying in air) and owned a Harley-Davidson (for his love of flying on land), but Jim’s favorite pastime was the yearly family vacations to Daytona Beach, FL. Jim enjoyed meeting and talking with people and lived life to the fullest. He loved God and his family. Jim’s favorite song, “I Wouldn’t Take Nothin’ for My Journey Now,” features the line “Gotta make it to Heaven somehow” – and he did!
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Paula Sturgeon Pullum; two sons, Duane Keith (Janelle) Pullum and Brian Dale (Christie) Pullum; three daughters, Tina Garrett, Shannon (Nick) Hurley and Angela Pullum; two stepdaughters, Tiffany (Matt) Ware and Cassandra Cordray; two brothers, Ron (Sharon) Pullum and Brian David (Sarah) Pullum; one sister, Freida (Danny) Smitha; two brothers-in-law, Steven (Sharon) Sturgeon and Timothy (Karen) Sturgeon; two sisters-in-law, Carlotta Pullum and Kathy Sturgeon; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.
